Joseph Walsh & Sara Flynn Contexte et Collaboration
The Centre Culturel Irlandais is delighted to present new works by renowned designer and maker Joseph Walsh in special collaboration with ceramic artist Sara Flynn. Dialogue between the two dates back over fifteen years around their common passion for material and form. Here at the CCI, in a poetic interweaving of expression, twelve unique sculptural Enignum Wall Brackets hold twelve porcelain vessels and a landscape of vessels spread across the burr ash surface of an Enignum Dining Table. Working with a diverse range of materials since 2012, including wood, stone, glass, and resin, Joseph Walsh consistently pushes the boundaries of material form and quality. Recognised internationally, his undulating pieces of furniture grace private and public collections including the Centre Pompidou and Musée des arts décoratifs to name but two. Sara Flynn’s worldwide reputation for exquisite contemporary ceramics and her love of textures, line and volume are evident in her expertly elegant curvatures. Together, these organic sculptures and ceramics are contextualised and create an uplifting ensemble of infinite delicacy.
